Ahh, I think a lot of it has to do with the perception of what you once were and how incredibly hard it is to get over that. There is certainly a portion of the people describe above who get off on the fact of being different, and with the connection of the internet its easy to dismiss anyone who think they may be different to not. But I think if you are bullied as a kid for liking something and being different, well it’s not easy to move past that just cause you arent being beaten up as an adult.
