The trick with Aaron, which I think makes this the ultimate challenge is that you have to learn a Broadway play every week. We’re not walking around the corner holding a gun, going, ‘Look out!’ We’re coming around the corner and doing Sorkin, and that’s a whole other thing. And it’s Sorkin at 90 miles an hour, because there’s a musicality, there’s a rhythm to him. Dialogue that has to come out of your mouth, snap-snap—and not just actors talking fast. These [characters] are very smart people, they think fast and they talk fast, and those listening have to keep up.
One of the only TV shows that I am looking forward to in 2012. While I am fairly certain I could NOT hang with Sorkin in real life, I love his ability to tell stories about people that I cant imagine NOT wanting to know.
Here’s “The Newsroom” trailer I was very excited to see tonight, and the excitement was well suited. I love me some Jeff Daniels and it seems he will be able to bring some lightness to Aaron Sorkin’s new news drama for HBO.
The cast is strong, and I’m already interested in where the stories going. Yes, it’s similar to a lot of Sorkin’s meltdown/best of the industry stories, but isn’t that why we love him? (we love him right?)
